To integrate and increase art participation in the Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan regions, in 2016, four cultural centers (i.e., the cultural centers of Yunlin County, Chiayi City, Chiayi County, and Tainan City (Xinying Dist.)) planned and established the YACCT Theater, focusing on regional theater collaboration and audience development. The “Summer Theatre Festival,” also introduced in 2016, promotes administrative cooperation and art resource integration between cities and counties; and combines theater experiences and art-related short trips together to increase the opportunities for the public to participate in art and performances. These efforts illustrate the value and purpose of establishing the YACCT Theater.

The YACCT Theater operates on the principle of administrative collaboration and is committed to achieving interdisciplinary goals such as connecting theater space with other domains, facilitating local art team movement, sharing art resources, developing potential audience development, and providing one-day cultural experiences. These endeavors will make the YACCT Theater one of the core art development focuses of southern Taiwan in the future.
